The Flying Bicycle

The Flying Bicycle

Pieter Toussaint

Ytze and his brother Vincent are fanatic builders. Their great inspiration are the blueprints from their late grandfather. The man is still adored by the entire family and a lasting example of creativity and social consciousness.

But one silent Sunday morning, a perfectly planned test flight with their latest invention, the flying bicycle, ends with a fatal accident. It is one Sunday morning that Ytze will never be able to forget. The death of his brother hounds him in his dreams. He understands that there is just one way to deal with his guilt. He needs to go to Friesland and have another good look at the blueprints of his grandfather. Was he a fantasizing fool or truly a genius inventor far ahead of his time?

‘A beautifully written book you won’t be able to put down. A book about complicated family relationships, guilt and loneliness.’
