Marijke Schermer (1975) is a novelist and playwright. Her debut novel Love, If That’s What It Is was shortlisted for the Libris Literatuurprijs 2020. For her second novel Breakwater film rights have been sold, and the book has been shortlisted for the ECI Literatuurprijs. The English translation of Breakwater was longlisted for the Dublin Literary Award 2024. Marijke Schermer’s works have been translated widely.
