Edgar Cairo

Edgar Cairo (Paramaribo, 1948 – Amsterdam, 2000) was one of the most important post-war Surinamese writers in the Netherlands. He wrote forty books in every conceivable genre. As early as the 1980s, he shed light on themes such as the position of migrants in society, and the long-term effects of slavery.
