Auxiety

Dieuwertje Heuvelings

Auxiety is a novel that transcends the world of hip-hop and appeals to a wide audience: from young people to culture lovers and millennials experiencing a personal crisis. Everyone will find something they recognise. A breath of fresh air in the somewhat uniform landscape of the Dutch novel.’ – Tzum

Heuvelings - who was once responsible for 103 playlists - suddenly found herself in the firing line. Doing this, Heuvelings eventually received threats from fans whose favourite bands had missed out on a playlist she had rappers breathing down her neck, selling her private email address online. After Spotify, Heuvelings worked in A&R at Arista Records in New York. While Heveulings was there, the desire to write a book about her experiences came to a point where she had to quit her job and return to the Netherlands. She wrote Auxiety, a novel à clef about the thrilling and dark sides of the music industry.
